TUESDAY, Jan. 17th @ 6:30pm:
Instructed by Viraj Chang, MPT

Breathe better, boost energy. and gain strength by stimulating your diaphragm. Inhale. Exhale. You hear that often in a Pilates class. But, do you understand the meaning of why that exhale is so important? The Postural Restoration Technique can help train your diaphragm to eliminate faulty postures and recruit more muscles responsible for stability and core strength. In this workshop you’ll gain a better understanding of exercising or ”turning on” your diaphragm which will in turn cause you to breathe better, boost your energy and help improve the quality of your fitness program. I’ll review positions to exercise, stand, sit and sleep that can help decrease compensatory use of specific overused muscles which can lead to injury. Sitting at the desk at work will be more comfortable. Your long drive won’t be as stressful on the back and neck. You will be able to accelerate your fitness program from a recent or chronic orthopedic injury. Sleeping will be more comfortable. You will be able to achieve more abdominal activation and quality movement during your Pilates class, too!

Workshop fee: $20
